The IT Wales Business Club provides a platform for Welsh businesses to network on a regular basis through a variety of events. All events aim to encourage business to operate more effectively and profitably, and to become more competitive in the Welsh and global economies.
As experts in the field of web accessibility and winning the award for Website of the Year at the Technology Wales Awards 2004 for the truly accessible Arriva Trains Wales website, ITWales invited Imaginet to speak at their event on the subject on 9th September.
The event highlighted the new legal requirements from the amended Disability Discrimination Act and why all organisations should ensure their virtual business environment is accessible to people with disabilities.
Dave guided the audience through the process of making sure a website can be accessed by all, with examples throughout and highlighted some of the simple techniques that can overcome the potential barriers between organisations and disabled customers.
The presentation was met with a positive reaction and many businesses that attended are now taking steps to improve their existing websites.
