A secure e-commerce website for the UK’s largest bakery products distributor

From its base in Wimbledon, BAKO South Eastern Ltd. offers the food industry an outstanding combination of competitive prices plus the exceptional customer service only a local company can provide.

Launched over 50 years ago as a regional buying co-operative, the company supplies a vast choice of major brand names plus the value and quality of the BAKO own-label products. They serve an ever-expanding customer base within the food industry, which ranges from traditional organisations through to new companies catering for the latest convenience markets.

The Challenge:

BAKO came to Imaginet to improve their e-commerce service by providing a better user experience and gaining more control over their online business. They also required full integration with their back-office ERP system, Lakeview. 

The main strategy for the project is to build relationships with new and existing business users of Bako South East through the offer of a wide range of services that will simply make life easier for them. 

With a new website that is extremely professional in design and offers innovative functions, Bako aims to strengthen its competitive advantage in the market by offering services that are consistently above their competitors. 

The Solution:

Working closely with Bako and Imaginet’s business software partner, the ERP provider Lakeview, we created an e-commerce website that combines intuitive front-end design with powerful behind the scenes technology to meet the company aims and objectives.

Within the main site area, customers can find recipes, buy wholesale products via an intuitive and attractive buying process, as well as find the latest news from the sector. 

The Results:

Since the launch of the site, sales have increased substantially and relationships with customers using the on-line account management service has improved vastly.
