Background
Rising Stars is a fast-growing educational publishing company, based in Kent. The company has over 100 titles available, all carefully linked to the National Curriculum Key Stages, QCA Schemes of Work, National Numeracy Strategy or National Literacy Strategy.
The company required a new e-commerce website to attract new customers and provide an additional sales channel, from which they could sell their full range of educational books to parents, students and teacher
Solution
Imaginet developed a website with an attractive and fun design that complements the company’s off-line branding perfectly. The site makes use of all Imaginet’s expertise in e-commerce, with key products being highlighted on the homepage allowing customer to buy immediately and other relevant products are presented throughout encouraging additional purchases. Other key features include:
- Functional product catalogue, basket and secure checkout allowing staff to easily, add, amend and remove products from the site
- Customers can search for products by keyword, key stage or series
- A registration system records previous purchases so that customers can review their orders and reorder without having to fill in their details again
- Rising Stars can send HTML and plain text emails to registered customers, building relationships and encouraging repeat purchases
- Imaginet’s content management system allows Rising Stars to add, amend and delete pages or content from the site simply and quickly
Results
In the first seven weeks following launch, the website accounted for over 1000 orders, which far exceeded expectations. The site continues to attract new customers and is proving to be a real success with existing customers, particularly schools, who order in bulk on the website.
