The Client:


Increasing revenues with a feature rich website for the UK’s leading parking provider

With more car parks than any one else NCP is the UK's number one car park operator. Founded in 1931 in West London they offer a broad range of parking services and products run exclusively by themselves or in joint public-private partnership with local councils. 

The Challenge:

Over the course of 2013/14 NCP are introducing a new back-office system for their quoting and account management, designed to streamline processes internally and increase sales with the offer of a wider range of tickets. 

Imaginet was employed to develop a new website for NCP that would initially re-launch their existing solution linking to a third party booking agent and launch a full portal offering customers access to a wide range of on-line servicing and booking tools that would make full use of the new back-office created by ATOS.

The overarching strategy for the project is to provide NCP users with a one-stop shop for all their parking needs, linked perfectly to the new back-office system at NCP.  

The Solution:

Imaginet introduced a new responsive design, using flat colours throughout. It’s bold, fresh and works perfectly across all screen sizes.  This was essential in order to raise NCP’s profile as a high quality parking provider offering excellent rates on parking across the country. 

Innovation is introduced through the integration of the portal with the new back-office system and as it is entirely bespoke, requires some complex coding to meet objectives. The challenge is to ensure that even though the integration is complex, the front-end and functionality offered to customers has to be simple to use and with a wonderful user experience.  Some key features in of the solution include: 

  • On-line mapping that scales perfectly across all devices
  • Promotion of pre-bookable car-parks to help increase sales
  • Full content management so NCP can maintain content internally
  • The new portal will offer a wide range of services:
    • Product Decision tool calculator
    • Season ticket purchase and management 
    • Account management services
    • Cancellation management 
    • City and Saver Deals 
    • Improved services for Customer Advisors to track a customer’s journey through a sale


The Results:

The new website has allowed NCP to launch a further 90 city car parks online which led to an instantaneous 111% increase in online bookings month to month and just over a 300% increase year on year from the start of 2014. The website makes it incredibly easy for NCP to add pre-book car parks and due to the success of this new online channel, there are plans to make a further 150 bookable online later this year.

The new format site has allowed us to be far more active with partnerships and promotions. The highlight of these is the partnership that we now have in place with Fox/Dreamworks to promote their animated films both online and off. So far we have agreements on Rio 2 , How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Turbo with more planned in the future. These would not have been possible with our old site and the public response to these promotions has been both positive and invaluable.
