Marketing Manager to judge in CIM Marketing Awards

Imaginet's Marketing Manager, Paula Dauncey, a Chartered Marketer with the CIM has been asked to judge entries in the 2008 CIM Canmol: Wales Marketing Awards.

The Chartered Institute of Marketing has launched the new Welsh Marketing Awards. Canmol (which means to praise in Welsh) will celebrate and promote excellence in the marketing industry in Wales and The Institute is calling for entries from the best in the business.

The Awards are the first of their kind in Wales and have been created as part The Institute’s commitment to raising the profile and standard of marketing in Wales. As a Chartered Marketer with the CIM, Imaginet's Marketing Manager Paula Dauncey has been asked to judge the entries in the awards and Imaginet is also lending it's offices in the heart of Cardiff for the final day of interviews.

The Canmol Awards will provide an annual opportunity to celebrate excellence in marketing ideas and execution and will reward best practice in marketing across all sectors. The crème de la crème of marketing practitioners are being asked to apply and excellent performance on an individual or team basis will be considered.

Five winners will be chosen from entries based simply on excellence in their particular context. So the fifteen judges will be looking at how creative, strategic thinking in marketing has produced something of true significance.

The winners will be announced at an Awards Ceremony held in Tiger Tiger, Greyfriars Road, Cardiff on the evening of Thursday 9 October with live jazz, compere Chris Jones (S4C) and entertainment from Rod Woodward. The five winners will be presented with a trophy and receive a day’s free training at Moor Hall, The Institute’s headquarters.

The other judges are Jonathan Deacon, Barrie Foster, Dan Langford, Ian Beattie, James Horsham, Joanne McKinstry, Julian Leybourne, Martin Evans, Nick Alexander, Sue Cole, Terrie Cousins, Alan Mumby, Joanna Swash and Peter Lewis.

Speaking from their offices in Cardiff, Paula Dauncey said:

"I was delighted to be chosen for such an exciting role and I'm looking forward to reviewing the entries from leading marketers throughout Wales.  I think Wales is generating some really fantastic and innovative marketing campaigns and here at Imaginet we're pleased to be a part of the awards that recognise this."
