We've worked closely with Transport for Wales in creating a digital web and app solution for their users. Making ticket purchasing and travelling on the go accessible for all.
Transport for Wales Project
Imaginet is TfW’s long term Digital partner
Since the launch of the original Transport for Wales App and Retail
Platform, Imaginet has operated as a long-term digital partner,
working alongside Transport for Wales to deliver and continually
evolve a modern, customer-first transport experience across Wales
and the broader network.
Rather than a one-off delivery, the platform has been developed
through an ongoing programme of iterative improvement — adapting to
new rail services, payment models, operational requirements and
customer expectations. As the network has grown, so too has the
digital ecosystem, scaling to support hundreds of thousands of users
while maintaining reliability in a live, high-availability
environment.
Working closely with project, retail and customer teams, we apply
contemporary development practices including agile delivery,
continuous deployment and data-driven decision making. This enables
new features and improvements to be introduced safely and frequently,
ensuring the platform keeps pace with both passenger needs and
industry change.
Accessibility and inclusion are fundamental to the platform’s design.
The application is developed and tested against WCAG 2.2 AA
accessibility standards, ensuring journeys can be planned and tickets
purchased by as many passengers as possible, including users of
assistive technologies. From bilingual experiences to simplified
purchase flows and clear real-time travel updates, the service is
shaped around real passenger journeys — not just technical capability.
